Our Story
We started Mio Rental and Retail, Inc. in 1995 opening the doors on September 25th. Our
intentions were to be primarily a Rent to Own store but with keeping the retail pricing
competitive enough to do cash and carry sales as well. We were pleasantly surprised in 1996
when we had approximately 45% of our sales being retail as well as a brisk Rent to Own
business. By the end of 1997 our retail business was approximately 65% of our total. We also
started selling Primestar satellites for which we had won a sales award for that year. Also, in
1997 we became a retailer for Century Cellunet cellular phones as well as picking up DirecTV.
Our retail sales now were outperforming our Rent to Own sales. We then expanded the store
and bought a warehouse by 2000. In 2001 we expanded to an additional store in Standish,
which we still operate today. As technology progressed we got into the Satellite Internet
business, which we are very much involved with to this very day selling Exede Internet to
customers that cannot get a DSL or Cable solution. We had recognized the need for a bigger
retail showroom so in 2007 we had converted approximately 7400 square foot of our
warehouse facility into what is now The Warehouse. We are proud a Brand Source member and
pride ourselves with offering our customers the very best value and service. We employ two full
time service appliance techs so our customers will never experience a hassle with getting a
faulty appliance repaired that could otherwise be an aggravating experience if you had
purchased an appliance from a big box store. We are a family oriented business and a proud
supporter of many local organizations as well as many churches, and of course our local
schools! So if you haven’t visited our store please stop in. We guarantee you will NOT
experience a high pressure sales pitch but a friendly hometown atmosphere and staff who are
at YOUR SERVICE.
